Cal Raleigh and the Seattle Mariners’ magical postseason run ended in heartbreak Sunday night as they lost 4-3 to the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 7 of the ALCS. The defeat kept Seattle from reaching its first World Series in franchise history, despite putting together one of its best seasons ever.

Toronto’s veteran outfielder George Springer delivered the knockout blow with a three-run homer in the seventh inning to turn a 3-1 deficit into a 4-3 lead. The Mariners fought until the very end, but Jef Hoffman shut the door for the Blue Jays to clinch the AL pennant at Rogers Center.
