NEW ORLEANS — Louisiana State Police say “persistent policing” from Troopers in New Orleans led to the arrests of multiple ATV and dirt bike riders driving recklessly through downtown New Orleans Monday night.

According to , troopers increased their presence in the city to provide extra support during the second night of the . While patrolling downtown, they spotted several ATVs, dirt bikes and motorcycles allegedly driving recklessly through the streets.

When the riders fled, troopers later located the group near North Claiborne and Columbus Street, where five people were arrested, authorities said.

In total, troopers seized four ATVs, two dirt bikes, one motorcycle, and three firearms. According to the state police, two of the ATVs were reported stolen.
