VANCOUVER — British Columbia Premier David Eby says a recent court ruling granting Aboriginal title to the Cowichan Tribes over land in Richmond is “a big deal” for both homeowners and the provincial economy. Eby voiced support for Richmond Mayor Malcolm Brodie, who warned that the B.C. Supreme Court decision could impact private land titles.

“I share the concern of Mayor Brodie about the implications of this decision,” Eby told reporters Monday. “It is a big deal and it’s crucial for our economy — for just the basic economics of a family, that people understand their private property rights.”
