FRISCO, Texas — A North Texas school board voted Monday to close one of the district's oldest campuses.
The Frisco ISD board of trustees unanimously approved closing Staley Middle School after the 2025-2026 school year at their Oct. 20 meeting. Staley Middle School students will be rezoned to Griffin Middle School, Trent Middle School, and Hunt Middle School starting in the 2026-2027 school year.
Among the reasons officials cited for the closure were costly repairs needed to the school in the 6900 block of Stadium Lane in Frisco and declining enrollment.
"Campus closures (are) becoming a harsh reality for many districts," Frisco ISD Place 6 Sherrie Salas said ahead of the vote. "Unfortunately, the declining enrollment in Texas public schools is what has us here today.”
