WARE COUNTY, Ga. — A 27-year-old Union City, Ga. man is facing numerous charges for allegedly trying to deliver drugs to the Ware County Jail with a drone, the Ware County Sheriff's Office announced Monday.
Santonio Knighton faces charges of trafficking in fentanyl, trafficking in methamphetamine, felony intentional use of an unmanned aircraft, possession of fentanyl and possession of methamphetamine.
On Oct. 15, the sheriff's office said detectives acted upon information regarding "a location in the 3800 block of Blalock Avenue, which indicated the site was to be used for illegal activity."
The sheriff's office said when detectives responded to a home on the street, they encountered Knighton, who the sheriff's office said began operating a drone.
