A former chief of police has been charged with fraud over alleged claims he made when applying to work with the force.
Former Northamptonshire Police chief constable Nick Adderley has been charged with fraud and misconduct in public office.
It is in relation to claims he allegedly made when applying to work for the force, the Crown Prosecution Service said in a statement.
The alleged claims were about his military service and educational achievements, the CPS continued.
The formal prosecution comes after the Independent Office for Police Conduct, which investigates the most serious complaints in British policing, held its own investigation.
