A Delta Airlines flight was forced to return to the airport, mid-flight, after a passenger reportedly brought spoiled food on board and it stunk up the plane.

According to both KSL and ABC4 out of Utah, Delta flight 2311 was bound for Salt Lake City from Los Angeles.

Rather make the nearly 200 passengers deal with the rotten food odor for roughly two hours, pilots turned the plane around.

“As nothing is more important than the safety of our customers and people, our crew followed standard procedures to safely return to Los Angeles after an unpleasant odor was detected onboard. We apologize to our customers for the delay in their travels,” Delta said in a statement posted by KSL and ABC4.
