EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is giving out over $450,000 to rural and volunteer fire departments across the state.
According to a press release, several fire departments in the Tri-State will be receiving grants.
Officials say each grant is up to $5,000.
They say they cover everything from safety features, to training, to upgrading necessary materials.
Leaders say the grants were made available through the USDA.
The following fire departments in the Tri-State will receive grants:
Dubois Volunteer Fire Department
Haysville Community Volunteer Fire Department
Ireland-Madison Township Volunteer Fire Department
Schnellville Volunteer Fire Department
St. Anthony Fire Department
Central Perry Volunteer Fire Department
Petersburg Fire Departmen
