EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The Evansville Police Department says a United State Postal Service van was struck by a drunk driver.

Officials say they were called around 1:00 p.m. Thursday to the 3900 block of Covert Avenue for a property damage accident.

They say the accident involved a USPS mail delivery van and another vehicle that reporters told police appeared to be drunk.

Witnesses told officers the vehicle hit the van then drover away and pulled into a nearby parking stall.

Police say the driver, 25-year-old Alexis Baxton, blew a 0.312 BAC reading at the scene and was arrested.

According to the affidavit, no injuries were recorded, but Baxton was taken to the hospital for medical clearance before being booked.

She later blew a 0.267 BAC at the jail.
