Chennai and several parts of Tamil Nadu witnessed widespread rainfall on Tuesday, prompting authorities to declare a holiday for schools in Chennai on Wednesday.
Shortly after Chennai, schools and colleges in Chengalpattu district and other parts of the state were also declared a holiday on Wednesday.
