Another gorgeous fall day is on tap across Eastern North Carolina as sunshine and a southwest breeze help temperatures climb into the lower to mid 70s this afternoon. A quick cold front slides through tonight, but it’ll come through quietly, no rain expected, just a few clouds and a shift to cooler, drier air by early Wednesday morning.

Behind the front, high pressure takes control once again, ushering in several days of mild afternoons and crisp mornings. Expect highs in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees Wednesday through Friday with overnight lows dipping into the 40s inland and 50s closer to the coast. You’ll notice a light breeze and very dry air, meaning we’ll see large day-to-night temperature swings and that “fresh fall feel” in the mornings.
