A driving instructor has had his car stolen near a Birmingham tower block in what he believes is a ‘targeted’ theft.

Umar Jillani runs the Talent Driving Academy in Erdington but woke last Wednesday (October 15) to find his grey Toyota Yaris Hybrid car, registration number: LX67 VZN, stolen from where he parked it in Portfield Grove, Erdington.

Umar has lived in the road for eight years and not had issues.

But has then experienced damage to his car in the last two months, culminating in the car’s theft last week.

He believes the car was taken between 2am and 6am last Wednesday.

The 32-year-old father-of-one said: “My car was stolen on Wednesday last week.

“I live in one of the tower blocks [on the Lyndhurst Estate] and my car was parked in Portfield Grove.
