STERLING, Ill. (KWQC) - A Rock Falls man was charged Monday after police investigated a battery report in July.

Police received a report on July 27 of battery to a child in the 500 block of 12th Avenue, according to a media release from Sterling Police.

Harley Canas, 26, is charged with:

aggravated domestic battery, a Class 2 felony

endangering the life or health of a child, a Class A misdemeanor

Canas is being held at the Whiteside County Jail, police said.

Canas was denied pretrial release, according to court records. A preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 3 at the Whiteside County Courthouse.
