A series of mild earthquakes struck parts of Pakistan and neighbouring regions on Tuesday, according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS).

According to the NCS, a quake of magnitude 3.8 struck Pakistan at a depth of around 80 kilometres. Another tremor measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale also hit the region earlier in the day at a greater depth.

The agency added that Pakistan had already recorded quakes of magnitudes 4.7, 4.0 and above over the past few days, indicating increased seismic activity in the area.
