WASHINGTON — Actor Eric Dane will star as an ALS patient in NBC's "Brilliant Minds."

The actor, who was diagnosed with the progressive neurological disorder earlier this year, will make a guest star appearance on an episode of "Brilliant Minds." Dane will play a heroic firefighter who struggles to share his ALS diagnosis with his family on episode 9 of Season 2.

The "Brilliant Minds" episode is scheduled to premiere on Nov. 24 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.

"A firefighter, a father, and a diagnosis that changes everything. Eric Dane guest stars in a must-watch episode of #BrilliantMinds on Nov 24 10/9c," the network said on the official Instagram page.

The network also shared set photos of Dane, 52, with Zachary Quinto, who plays Dr. Oliver Wolf.
