FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A Fresno-based nonprofit, no-kill rescue and shelter dedicated to saving bully breed dogs, will no longer be taking new animals.

Fresno Bully Rescue (FBR) created a GoFundMe, asking the community for donations for dogs in need. The rescue stated that their veterinary expenses have soared due to an influx of medical cases and the rising costs of care.

FBR is a volunteer, nonprofit, no-kill rescue and shelter dedicated to saving bully breed dogs, including American Pit Bill Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, American bulldogs, Bull Terriers and more.

In the GoFundMe, it states that from emergency surgeries and wound treatments to ongoing medications and routine procedures, vet bills "have grown far beyond" what regular donations can cover.
