WINSLOW – Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a fatal off-road vehicle (ORV) accident that occurred Sunday evening in Winslow.
At 7:43 p.m., conservation officers responded to private property near Old State Road 64 and State Road 257 for a report of an ORV accident with entrapment.
Initial investigation determined that at 7:33 p.m., John G. Goodall, 50, of Oakland City, was leaving his deer hunting area to pick up his spouse, who was hunting nearby, when the ORV he was operating overturned, trapping him underneath.
Goodall’s spouse, who heard the accident, responded to help and called 911.
Despite life-saving measures taken, Goodall was pronounced dead on the scene. The accident is still under investigation.
