CARTERVILLE, Ill. (WSIL) -- A boil water order has been issued for customers in Carterville on Tuesday.
The City of Carterville informed their residents of a water main break on Tuesday afternoon, which resulted in a boil water order issued for a particular area.
Carterville water customers who are ordered to boil their water are on Meadowbrook Lane, Shady Drive, Main Street, Sassasfras, Wolf Creek, and Old Route 13, east of Meadowbrook.
The boil water order is in effect until further notice.
The CDC recommends bringing water to a full rolling boil for one minute, or three minutes at elevations above 6,500 feet. Then allow the water to cool before using it.
