PLATTSBURGH TOWN, N.Y. (WCAX) - The Plattsburgh Town Planning Board is set to decide on a potential new ICE facility at the old Air Force base.
Officials with the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office say it would be for Homeland Security Investigations -- a division under ICE -- who they say recently had their facility condemned in Rouses Point.
Town Planning Director Trevor Cole says it would be at 284 Idaho Street, next to other businesses. He says the GSA applied to use the space several months ago, but hasn’t said for which agency. The documents show plans for an office and conference space, storage, gym area, and a small short-term detention cell.
