FARGO — Oak Grove Lutheran School's north Fargo campus was placed under a 45-minute "soft lockdown" Tuesday morning, Oct. 21, while police searched for a suspect in the vicinity of the school.
According to an email to Oak Grove families from school president Bob Otterson, Fargo police requested the lockdown while responding to a report of a stolen vehicle.
Police emphasized that the school was not in a threatening situation, rather the suspect was seen leaving the vehicle roughly three blocks from campus. Police asked school administrators to use the lockdown to "keep our students on campus and reduce congestion while the canine team worked in the neighborhood," the email said.
Two officers stayed at Oak Grove during the lockdown and many students talked to the officers as the incident
