LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Business owners across Mid-Michigan are feeling the effects of tariffs with increased import fees that are ultimately passed on to customers, raising prices and impacting business.

Jessy Gregg, owner of Seams, Sewing, and Mercantile in Old Town Lansing, says that she started seeing the price of store purchases rise due to tariffs earlier this year.

"It's been evolving over the last eight months, I would say. So, like items that I order with frequency, like pins or like cutting implements, every time I order them, there has been a slight increase in price. So over the last eight months, I've seen some products change in price three to four times, depending," said Gregg.

The price increase has caused a ripple effect that is financially impacting store customers.
