LAKE CITY, S.C. (WBTW) -- Friends and colleagues of Fernando "Tick" Barr are honoring his memory by dedicating a chapel this Saturday in Lake City.
Barr was killed after an incident in June. The chapel will be called "Precious Memories" at the Dimery and Rogers Chapel.
Back in June, Barr, affectionately called Tick, was found stabbed and shot at a home on Simmons Street. The Florence County Coroner's Office said he was cut by an "edged weapon" and suffered gunshot wounds.
To this point, no arrests have been made, but his friends and colleagues don't want the events of that night to be the last thing people remember about him. The chapel is a fitting tribute, says Bishop Dr. Amos Major, a longtime friend of Barr's for nearly 40 years.
