JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) - A human skull that was found at Pine Oaks Golf Course last week remains under the investigation of the Johnson City Police Department (JCPD).

According to the JCPD, the human skull was found on Thursday near a wooded area on the golf course by a bystander, who made a 911 call at 5:30 p.m.

The JCPD's Criminal Investigations Division responded to the call, cleared the scene upon arrival and closed the back half of the golf course that evening.

JCPD Captain Mike Adams said officers searched for any other human remains Friday morning by bringing in a cadaver dog from the Greene County Sheriff's Office. He added that police searched 800-1,000 meters surrounding the area where the skull was found.
