MCKEESPORT, Pa. —

Gas has finally been restored to a McKeesport apartment building more than two weeks after the building caught fire.

Tenants, both current and former, said they went more than two weeks without the ability to turn on their heat or take a warm shower. Finally, the gas has been restored, but they say there are a number of other concerns not being addressed. Advertisement

“I dare them to come spend 24 hours in Midtown. I dare them to,” Meanisha Mitchell said.

That was Mitchell’s message to the owners of Midtown Plaza Apartments in McKeesport.

She said after the building caught fire in early October, gas had to be shut off and wasn’t restored until today, but she noted other concerns, like bed bugs, rats, and mold.
