(WNDU) - Saturday is Prescription Drug Take Back Day, making it the perfect time to get rid of your unwanted medications to prevent prescription drug abuse.
Indiana State Police, Michigan State Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) are inviting you to get rid of your expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs at collection sites.
Police say the initiative reduces overdoses and accidental poisonings. It also avoids safety and health hazards of flushing or throwing away expired and unwanted medicines.
Both liquid and pills will be accepted. Needles or so-called “sharps” will NOT be accepted.
The Drug Take Back is anonymous and provided at no cost.
You can drop off your medications on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
