SCRANTON, Pa. — Brenda Sacco, nearly two months after a panel of Lackawanna County judges selected her to temporarily fill the seat vacated by former Commissioner Matt McGloin, will be sworn-in Wednesday to serve at least the next two weeks.
News of Sacco’s appointment comes a day after a state Supreme Court ruling that upheld the primacy of the county’s Home Rule Charter in deciding the process for filling a vacated elected position.
Still planned, however, is a special election Nov. 4 to determine McGloin’s long-term replacement.
