LACKAWANNA COUNTY, Pa. — An afternoon in Ransom Township saw Brenda Sacco overseeing a 2026 budget hearing.

It was one of the first orders of business for the new interim county commissioner, who was sworn in a few hours earlier inside the Lackawanna County Courthouse.

"Very, very exciting. Again, I couldn't be here without the support of my family, my friends, and, you know, the Democratic Party. And, and again, I think the Lackawanna County Court of Common Pleas Judges for entrusting me," said Brenda Sacco, (D) Interim Lackawanna County Commissioner

Sacco's appointment comes after Democrat Commissioner Matt McGloin stepped down earlier this year.
