ACTON – Competition between the Dual County League’s field hockey powers is among the most cutthroat in Div. 1.

In yet another even-matched showing between this year’s masters of ties, No. 15 Concord-Carlisle (8-3-5) and No. 25 Acton-Boxboro (7-4-6) proved it again Tuesday night by playing to a 1-1 draw.

No team in Div. 1 has as many ties as the two, who both have shown a propensity to match up evenly with nonleague title contenders as well. Neither head coach was overly thrilled about playing to a draw again after also tying 4-4 against one another earlier in the year, but they will take another non-loss as a positive step as both look to make noise come the start of the state tournament next week.
