This year’s Australian spring has unleashed a severe wave of hay fever across including sneezing, itchy eyes, and runny noses, with experts warning it’s one of the worst seasons yet due to weather extremes and record-breaking heat.

Thousands of Australians are suffering from hay fever this spring, with many reporting symptoms for the first time in their lives.

Sky News Weather Senior Meteorologist Rob Sharpe said pollen is one of the key culprit behind the surge.

“Hay fever is all about pollen, and spring is the key season for it as most flowers and crops are flowering, reaching the peak season,” he said.
