GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - You've heard of fishing, but you may not know that a specific type of fishing is holding its world championship right here in Green Bay this weekend.

The Street Fishing World Championship held its opening ceremony in Green Bay on Tuesday evening as representatives from 10 nations arrived ahead of the big event.

Street fishing, sometimes referred to as urban fishing, is what it sounds like, as people take the rod to a city canal, river and even park lakes. The style is more convenient as anglers can access prime spots on foot, with the main focus on catching predator fish in city limits.

10 nations will have pairs of anglers as a team for the October 25 and 26 competition dates, with sectors A and B along the Fox River through Allouez, Ashwaubenon, De Pere and of
