MINOT, ND (KXNET) — When you're behind the wheel, one wrong move can change your life forever. With this week highlighting national awareness for teen driver safety, groups like Vision Zero North Dakota are urging families to take an active role in helping these younger drivers make good choices on the road.

"We're encouraging teens to make safe decisions behind the wheel," Vision Zero coordinator Theresa Thom said. "Whether that's putting their phone away, buckling up, driving the speed limit, making sure they're stopping at all the stop signs. Whatever that driving behavior is, we want teens to model that."
