BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — More than a thousand people from across North Dakota are taking part in this year’s 5th annual Behavioral Health and Children and Family Services Conference in Bismarck, both in person and online. The four-day event brings together professionals who work every day to help kids and families, from social workers and therapists to foster parents and educators.

"Behavioral health, child welfare... can be a really hard, hard work," said Laura Anderson with the HHS Behavioral Health Division. "You know, you're serving people. It can be draining. And we really hope that this conference is an opportunity to bring the professionals together to learn new things, be encouraged, and really connect with each other."

The conference runs October 20–23 at the Bismarck Event Center
