A woman has been charged after an alleged hit-and-run in Sydney's north-west left a volunteer firefighter dead.
Emergency services were called to Richmond Road at Marsden Park on Saturday afternoon, where they found a motorbike and a Ford ute had collided.
Police said both vehicles caught fire after the impact.
Motorcyclist James Swainston, 31, died at the scene despite passing motorists attempting to assist him, but the driver of the ute was nowhere to be seen.
It is alleged the driver left before police arrived.
Swainston, a volunteer in the Rural Fire Service, has been remembered as supportive and caring by his family.
