NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa (KCRG) - A new event center that can hold up to 500 people officially opened in North Liberty with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The Hy-Vee Center at Centennial Park is now available for public rental for weddings, graduation parties and speaker events.
The city also held a ribbon cutting for an amphitheatre that will host concerts, artists and dance studios.
The event center and amphitheatre are part of the first phase of a four-phase, $16 million project at Centennial Park.
“Over 260 donors gave to a capital campaign to bring this to light. But it wasn’t just the big grants and the donations,” said Jillian Miller with the City of North Liberty. “It was also a lot of grassroots fundraising and unique partnerships that helped make this truly a community effort.”
