LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) - The Region 7 food service show took place in Longview Tuesday, giving students and faculty the chance to try new options that could be coming to their school cafeteria.

“I believe that grown-ups and children have different taste buds,“ says senior student Alyc Perkins from Central ISD.

He believes students should have a say in what they eat from their school cafeterias.

“I just think it would make lunch all the more enjoyable,” says Perkins.

Right now, he’s on a mission along with 175 students from 50 school districts across East Texas to try out more foods for their school’s cafeteria.

Geri Barret, a specialist for child nutrition at region 7 says this is all possible through their ESC’s annual Food Service show.
