SOUTH CAROLINA (WSPA) -- The votes are in for two special election primaries to fill seats in the South Carolina Senate and House.
State Senate, District 12 Special Election
The primary for the Senate seat representing District 12 in Greenville and Spartanburg counties comes after Senator Roger Nutt announced in April that he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. He will step down in January 2026.
The three candidates are former Spartanburg County Clerk of Court Hope Blackley, former Spartanburg County Council member Justin Bradley and former District 12 Senator Lee Bright.
Bright won with 50.9% of the vote. The special election for the Senate seat will be held December 23.
State House, District 21 Primary
The seat for State House District 21 was previously held by Republican Bobby
