TOLEDO, Ohio — Rossford city leaders say as the community continues to grow, traffic is following right behind, and that’s prompting a closer look at one of the city’s busiest intersections.

The Ohio Department of Transportation and Rossford are studying possible improvements at the I-75 and Buck Road interchange, where crash data shows a growing safety concern.

“There are trends that existed at the interchange that need to be corrected,” said Kelsie Hoagland, public information officer for ODOT District 2.

From 2019 to 2023, there were 163 crashes in that area, according to ODOT. About 12% of those resulted in injuries.

“The interchange is due for reconstruction. The bridge needs rehabilitation, so it’s time to look at what the proper type of interchange should be in the future,” Hoag
