MANSFIELD, Conn. — Three people were rescued from a "tragic" house fire at a Mansfield farm Tuesday night, according to Town Manager Ryan Aylesworth.

At 6:30 p.m., the Mansfield Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire on Warrenville Road at Khuyay Farm, which raises alpacas.

Deputy Fire Chief Kevin Danielson was the first to arrive and entered the home without an air pack due to the residents' urgent need for help, Aylesworth said. He rescued all three people from the home.

Aylesworth said the town is currently unable to provide updates on the conditions of the victims.

"I want to commend the heroic actions of Deputy Chief Danielson and the professionalism of all responding personnel who worked under extremely challenging conditions," Alyesworth said.
