In the current era where lies are peddled as truths, the very definition of truth has changed.

On Jan. 6, 2021, a mob instigated by President Trump violently attacked the Capitol building. There was bipartisan condemnation of the attack, and they held Trump responsible. His efforts to thwart the elections failed when his own vice president, Mike Pence, certified the election in his role as president of the Senate and declared Joe Biden as the winner. The culprits were identified, charged, and convicted in the courts of law. Four years later that attack was being peddled as a peaceful demonstration of patriots. Trump called that a travesty and pardoned them. How could criminals who attacked the seat of U.S. democracy become heroes?
