A luxury home in one of Brisbane’s most sought-after suburbs has been reduced to rubble after a fierce blaze tore through the property on Wednesday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to Trundle Street in Coorparoo at around 2pm, after reports that a two-storey home was fully alight.
Emergency crews arrived to find the property engulfed in flames, with thick black smoke billowing high above the city skyline.
Witnesses reported the plume could be seen from kilometres away, stretching as far as the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Ten Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews worked to bring the inferno under control and stop it from spreading to neighbouring homes in the densely built-up area.
