Carlton have been caught up in a fresh storm over their mascot who reportedly walked out of a young fan’s Bar Mitzvah.
It has been reported that the mascot “stormed out” of the event when he realised that funds were being raised for Israeli soldiers who had been injured in the war.
The 13-year-old boy is a huge Carlton fan and the parents wanted to surprise him with a special appearance by ‘Captain Carlton’.
News Corp reports that some “senior Carlton members” were among guests at the Bar Mitzvah.
It was reported the man at the centre of the drama “will never work at the club again”, and Carlton have since issued a statement.
