The call for an end to political violence is mounting across the country, as is the call for added protections among high-profile political figures.

In the wake of Charlie Kirk's assassination, some of those speaking out the loudest already have been victimized by political violence, and others have received threats. The latter group includes U.S. Sen. Adam Schiff (D-California).

Threats against Schiff jumped after his role in the impeachments of President Donald Trump during Trump's first term.
