Nomination scrutiny for the Nuapada Bypoll concluded today, confirming 14 candidates as valid contenders for the 2025 assembly election.

A total of 19 candidates had submitted their nomination papers. After thorough verification at the office of the Returning Officer and Sub-Collector, five nominations were rejected. The rejected candidates include Rajaram Sahu from Bahujan Samaj Party, Sitaram Behera from Rashtriya Parivartan Dal, and three independents—Purushottam Behera, Kamal Kumar Chhatria, and Bhujabal Adabanga.

The Nuapada Bypoll will feature candidates from major political parties. BJP’s Jay Dholakia, BJD’s Snehangini Chhuria, and Congress’s Ghasiram Majhi have successfully cleared the scrutiny process. Their nominations remain strong and valid.
