The Oklahoma City Police Department has fired an officer convicted of child abuse.

Court documents say Kristopher Gellenbeck choked his son in a parking lot in November 2023.

Gellenbeck was found guilty by a jury in September.

In 2021, Gellenbeck faced multiple charges related to another domestic incident involving his former wife. Gellenbeck entered an Alford Plea to an amended charge of Disturbing the Peace, which is a misdemeanor.
