OSAKIS — Throughout her tenure on the Osakis girls tennis team, Leah Maddock has accomplished much in a short amount of time.
Now, she’ll get one last chance at a state crown.
Maddock, a senior, is one of the 16 players who will battle for the Class A state individual singles championship beginning on Thursday, Oct. 23 at the Reed-Sweatt Tennis Center in Minneapolis following a strong Section 6A tournament, where she only dropped two games total en route to the title.
Entering the tournament as the No. 2-seed sporting a 29-3 match record, with her 29 victories ranking third in the state, Maddock knows those numbers don’t mean a lot at this point in the season.
“Everyone’s so close,” Maddock said. “You just have to have a good match on that specific day and kind of just play your game.
