Portland is sitting on the cusp of a wet and windy end to the week as a strong low in the Gulf of Alaska sends multiple systems into the Pacific Northwest.
The first in the series will bring cloudy skies to the metro area Wednesday and about a 30% chance of showers through the evening. Otherwise, clouds will be heavy at times, but the metro area should also see some sun breaks during the day. The high temperature should reach about 67 degrees.
Thursday will offer a break in precipitation with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 66.
The National Weather Service says the forecast is highly uncertain in regard to how the low sets up beginning Friday. Both the strong low from Alaska and an atmospheric river are possible by the end of the week. If they combine, rain and wind will be heavy at
