OMAHA, Neb. —
People facing homelessness had a chance to get help in a variety of areas on Tuesday.
The nonprofit Threshold held its "Project Connect" event at Baxter Arena.
Dozens of groups were there to offer things like blood pressure screening, help with veteran benefits, and free take-home food packs.
In 2024, Project Connect reached more than 270 people facing housing instability.
Organizers said it's about helping those who need it most.
"There's a gentleman that came in, that originally did it. I believe that, had no shoes on. And although we didn't have shoes, you know, but giving to that feeling of, you know, came in kind of with nothing and walked out with three bags of stuff. And kind of, nonperishable items too.
