ATLANTA ( WANF /Gray News) - More than 160 pounds of ketamine were seized from the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, according to Customs and Border Protection officers.
On Oct. 11, officers found five large plastic bags containing a “crystal-like substance” in luggage.
The luggage belonged to Daijanae Mitchell, a United States citizen who had arrived on a flight from Paris.
The next day, officers came across seven large plastic bags with a similar substance in luggage belonging to Ryan Mamboula Bokomba, a British citizen who also arrived from Paris.
Officers determined the substance was ketamine hydrochloride.
In all, officers found 160.9 pounds of ketamine and turned it over to local law enforcement.
Ketamine is listed as a Schedule III non-narcotic compound used
