Bhubaneswar: In a significant development, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has decided to hand over the investigation of the Police Sub-Inspector Recruitment Examination scam to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The decision comes amid allegations of widespread irregularities and corruption in the recruitment process, with probes suggesting the involvement of an inter-state organised criminal gang.

The state government’s preliminary investigation, conducted by the Crime Branch CID, has revealed that the corruption may have spread to other states, including Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal.
