Autumn is a great time to travel as most destinations are cheaper now that the children are back in school, but you do not need to go abroad to find somewhere worthwhile to visit in the UK. Edinburgh is frequently hailed as a stunning city, with travel publications such as Travel + Leisure and Time Out repeatedly ranking it among the top places to visit globally . ‌

However, having lived in Edinburgh for the majority of my life, I have noticed that the biggest blunder tourists make is visiting at the wrong time of year, as the ideal time to explore the city is during autumn. ‌

Most visitors come to Edinburgh in the summer due to the international festival held in August, but by then, the city is completely crowded, making it challenging to see anything
